Resident Evil 3 Remake Cover Spotted on PlayStation Store

The rumored Resident Evil 3 remake has seemingly already arrived on the PlayStation Store, according to an alleged leak.

Gamstat registers PlayStation Network APIs to calculate how many users are playing games. In addition, it also monitors new additions to the PlayStation Store. As of this time of writing, these new additions include Biohazard RE:3 and Resident Evil 3, along with a “Z Version” of the former.

For those unfamiliar, the Resident Evil series is called Biohazard in Japan. In addition, it seems that Project Resistance was also uploaded, under the name Resident Evil Resistance as its official name.

With the upcoming Game Awards (where several world premiers are promised), it seems all but certain the game will debut there. While it may seem strange to see the game being uploaded onto the PlayStation Store now, we are not expecting a surprise Winter 2019 release.

It is unlikely there would be little build up, with past titles typically using months of trailers and screenshots to build up interest. If these icons have been added to the PlayStation Store, it may be so users can pre-order the game.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
