Republique: Anniversary Edition launches

Developer Camouflaj announced Republique: Anniversary Edition launches in March 2022.

While Republique: Anniversary Edition launches on March 10th, 2022, the game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation VR. A price point is set at $14.99, and the PS4 and PS VR versions can be acquired via a bundle for $19.99 as well.

Camouflaj also confirmed they’re expanding the company, Camouflaj Holdings, within Japan. While the daily operations are now being overseen by Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker who left Capcom for the indie studio, he’s joined by “localization legend” Alexander O. Smith, who has worked on Final Fantasy VIII, Vagrant Story, the Ace Attorney series, and more.

“We’re thrilled to be starting a new chapter in Camouflaj’s history with the opening of Camouflaj Holdings here in Japan. Our second base here will strengthen our capability to build high quality, meaningful games on a global scale,” said Walker. “République: Anniversary Edition arrival on Switch, PlayStation 4, and PS VR are a celebration of the studio’s first decade. I can’t wait for players to discover what we mean when we say we build ‘meaningful games’ by experiencing République’s story, which I believe are even more relevant today than they were when Episode 1 first released back in 2013.”

Here’s a rundown on the release:

This new edition of their landmark first release, République: Anniversary Edition, brings République to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR for the very first time, and adds brand new developer commentary tracks revealing new secrets about the game’s whirlwind development process. République: Anniversary Edition was originally built for PlayStation 4 along with partner studio, Darkwind Media, and then brought to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation VR by Skymap Games.

République is a thrilling and topical stealth-adventure game that explores the perils of government surveillance in the Internet Age. Players receive a call from Hope, a woman trapped inside a mysterious totalitarian state, and must hack into the nation’s elaborate surveillance network to guide her to freedom.
