A new report (via Deadline) is pointing to the Hollywood-produced movie adaptation of the Uncharted franchise still having life, and what’s more, it seems to be redrafted entirely.

According to the report, Sony Pictures has redrafted the adaptation to begin with a prequel, starring Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake. If his name sounds familiar, you’ve probably noticed him as Peter Parker in the new Spider-Man Homecoming flick.

Shawn Levy is directing the film, which is now taking direct inspiration from the childhood sequence found in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The movie being reframed came from Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman after he saw the latest version of the new Spider-Man film.

While an Uncharted movie has been planned for years, this new version will get a new screenwriter to work alongside Levy, with producers Charles Roven, Avi Arad, and Alex Gartner.

The latest game in the series,  Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, will launch on August 22nd, 2017 in North America and August 23rd in Europe. How do you guys feel about an Uncharted movie? Sound off in the comments below!
