A new report is pointing to Oscar Isaac starring as none other than Solid Snake in the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid live-action movie adaptation.

The new report (via Deadline) claims that sources near the project at Sony Pictures said Isaac is attached to the movie to play Solid Snake. Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ is directing, with Avi Arad producing, and Peter Kang as executive overseer.

The Metal Gear Solid live-action movie adaptation is based on the Metal Gear series created by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. It remains unclear if the movie will focus on the events of Metal Gear Solid, or one of its prequels or even predecessors.

A production start date is still in the air due to Isaac being a very popular and in-demand actor, following his starring role in the Star Wars sequels. He’s also appearing in the Dune reboot, Marvel’s Moon Knight set for Disney+, and more.
