It seems as though the situation at Konami has gotten progressively worse, as we’ve just received a report the publisher will cease all development of AAA titles.
This new change in the company’s future games comes with the exception of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Gameblog, the same site that broke the story of Fox Engine director Julien Merceron leaving the company, says this is the case according to their sources.
However, Eurogamer also confirmed the report via their own sources, stating that this development might have been the reason why Merceron left the studio. This seems to be going against what Konami stated earlier this year about not solely focusing on mobile games.
Konami has yet to provide a comment, but we’ll update this post should the publisher issue a statement.
