Perfect World Entertainment and Gunfire Games have announced Remnant: From the Ashes have achieved one million sales, and that the game would have a Hardcore update.
Yoon Im (COO of Perfect World Entertainment) had high praise for the fans and Gunfire Games. “A big thank you to all of the fans who helped Remnant: From the Ashes achieve this major milestone. Gunfire Games has made a truly special game, and it’s fantastic to see how much it has resonated with players. The team has awesome plans in the works that will continue to keep the game fresh and challenging. We’re looking forward to continuing this journey with them and all of the fans.”
In turn, Gunfire Games co-founder and president David Adams hinted more about the future of the game. “The response to Remnant: From the Ashes has been overwhelming and humbling. We’re excited to expand Remnant’s universe and know players will love the new game content we have in the pipe for 2020. They’ve been asking almost daily for harder and harder challenges, and we are thrilled to unveil Hardcore Mode. Let’s see who has the skills to dominate the Root and make it out alive in one shot!”
The game’s October 31st update will introduce hardcore mode. This mode introduces perma-death, and in this mode can only play with other hardcore mode players online. Further, players can only play with friends instead of matchmaking with random players. New loot is earned in exchange for greater challenge however, with World Bosses dropping new rings with “powerful effects.” Once unlocked, these rings can be use across a player’s account for all characters “old and new, Standard and Hardcore.”
The update will also bring quality of life improvements, including a communications wheel with access to emotes, enviroment pings and markers, being able to hide helmets, disabling tutorial prompts and balance changes.
Finally, the official website made note of the game’s roadmap- confirming new content in Spring 2020 (Corsus + Survival Update), and Late 2020.
Remnant: From the Ashes is available now for Windows PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
