Remasters for Phantasy Star and Rogue Galaxy have Appeared on the Japanese PS2 Classics

rogue galaxy 08-20-14-1

I’m a gigantic fan of the Level-5 developed, space pirate themed RPG Rogue Galaxy, but sadly there hasn’t been much to capture that spirit since the game launched on the Playstation 2 all those years ago.

It seems like Japanese Playstation 3 owners are in for a treat, as Rogue Galaxy: Director’s Cut, Phantasy Star Generation: 1, and Phantasy Star Generation: 2 have all been published to the Playstation 2 classics portion of the Japanese Playstation Network.

The game’s prices can be found below:

The two Phantasy Star games are remakes of the two original games, which launched on the Sega Master System and Mega Drive.

Sony America, please consider publishing these (especially Rogue Galaxy) to the North American PSN?

Were those games ever released outside of Japan?

So none of these games were released outside of Japan, but the director’s cut for Rogue Galaxy was actually just an enhanced re-release featuring the content and such that were added to the North American and European releases. Generation 1 and 2 had fan translations, but nothing official outside of Japan :

I agree, out of these I only played Rogue Galaxy which is my favorite game of all time and this needs to be on ps2 classics (wouldn’t say no to a hd remaster either) in america and europe!

This is why ass kicking and buyouts for bean counting douchebags and clueless idiots exist. Furthermore, I would love it if Rogue Galaxy was redone in a lot of ways from the ground up, along with making MUCH larger levels, MORE levels, and even MORE playable characters, among other things.
