Time-loop adventure JRPG RE:Choice announced

RE:Choice

Indie Japanese developer yukiarrr has announced RE:Choice, a new time-loop adventure role-playing game.

RE:Choice is in development for Windows PC (via Steam), though a release date wasn’t announced. Console ports are being considered if the game picks up a publisher.

Here’s a rundown on the game, plus a teaser trailer:

“I told you, with you, we can start over!” Choices that weren’t available in the first playthrough become unlocked in the second. A time-loop adventure RPG where the story branches from the very beginning, depending on your decisions.

Choices unavailable in the first playthrough become accessible starting in the second. Your decisions shape the story, creating divergent paths right from the beginning. Use the power of restarting to defy an inescapable fate.

Story

The story follows a high schooler obsessed with a popular livestreamer and their oddball companion.

When they learn their favorite idol is destined to vanish, they use their special ability to glimpse memories and dive into investigating the mysterious case. But…

Gameplay

Players control the protagonist during the 10 days leading up to the idol’s disappearance. You can raise your stats, interact with characters, or delve into people’s memories to uncover clues about the case.

However, you only have 10 days, and stopping the disappearance is a formidable challenge. And then the inevitable happens… The idol disappears. But immediately after, the protagonists find themselves sent back 10 days, retaining all their memories.

To view someone’s memories, you must defeat the sci-fi beasts lurking within their memory world.

Why have these sci-fi beasts suddenly started appearing in memories? What are they, really?

The story slowly unveils the truth behind their existence as it progresses. Simply viewing memories won’t solve the case.

Using the clues you’ve discovered, you must further investigate the situation and sometimes negotiate with others to uncover the key to resolving the mystery.
