Rebellion, a U.K game studio and publisher primarily known for Rogue Trooper Redux and Strange Brigade, have launched their own film and tv production studio.
The company has purchased a $100m, 220,000 square foot facility near their Oxford headquarters, which they’re converting into a film studio. The company decided to break into the film and tv industry with their own studio as most of the U.K.’s existing venues are always in high demand, and fully booked.
The new production studio will create up to 500 new jobs across Britain’s film and television industry in the coming years. This is actually their second film studio, with the original 3-stage studio housing their acclaimed Audiomotion motion-capture company.
The new studio will house Rebellion’s upcoming productions of the Judge Dredd TV sci-fi drama Mega-City One as well as their future-war film Rogue Trooper, which is being directed by Duncan Jones (Warcraft film, Source Code, etc).
