Not to be outdone by the recently announced Logitech handheld done in collaboration with Tencent Games – Razer has announced their own cloud-based gaming handheld, the Razer Edge 5G.

What makes their handheld unique is that as many companies are launching products with 5G support, the Razer Edge 5G will include the latest wireless standard too. The handheld is done in collaboration with Verizon, one of the leading mobile carriers in the United States.

The company notes the handheld is an Android based machine, letting you “access to games you love” in a variety of locations, “locally, streamed from your console or accessed directly from the cloud.”

Assuming this is true, that means it will have more functionality than the Logitech G Cloud handheld, as that product does not support downloading your game libraries locally.

In the announcement, the handheld is stated to be built on the Snapdragon® G3X Gen 1 Gaming Platform, as this product is also being done in partnership with Qualcomm. Other than this, details for the device are still relatively unknown.

However, more information will be revealed during Razercon 2022, which is set to go down on October 15th.
