Rare to Unveil New Game at E3 2015, “More Fun than Anything We’ve Ever Done,” Not for Kinect

Rare is going to reveal their latest game at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The news comes via studio creative director Simon Woodroffe, who confirmed the news on his Twitter. “E3 (and beyond!!!),” Woodroffe replied in response to a fan wondering what Rare is working on. Woodroffe added, “E3 will tell the world what Gregg Mayles’ new project is about.”

Woodroffe also said, “All I can give here is a quote from the man himself ‘This is more fun than anything we’ve ever done.’” It’s worth mentioning that Gregg Mayles is a designer currently working at Rare, who has worked on both the Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie series, as well as served as director on Banjo-Tooie. Finally, he was also a designer on Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

Woodroffe also made a point in saying the game is not for Kinect, so perhaps we’ll be seeing a “traditional” platformer, a la Playtonic Games’ recent success, Yooka Laylee?
