Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day is Coming West

Ranko Tsukgime’s Longest Day ss 1

Namco Bandai have confirmed that they’re bringing the extremely bizarre Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day to North America and Europe. In the game, you play as the daughter of a zaibatsu boss – by day you’re an average high school student, by night you moonlight as an assassin that is … chased by demons?

The name of the game in the West will be Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, the title that ties a bit more into the origin of the game as the adaptation of the fifth movie in the Short Peace anthology, which is headed by anime and game titans like Katsuhiro Otomo and Goichi Suda.

The game was developed by Tokyo Jungle studio Crispy’s with a helping hand from Grasshopper Manufacture. Levels within Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day play out from a 2D perspective and have you constantly running from demons, as you use various attacks to pick them off.

You’ll be able to use Ranko’s bow, melee attacks and violin, the latter allowing her to fire magical bullets. When you hit enemies, the screen lights up with all kinds of crazy effects, which are also able to hit other enemies, creating combo chains. You can also use these effects as a stepping stone to higher areas in game.

Even though the full game can be completed in roughly two hours, you’ll have to play it a lot more than that to unlock all of the concept art, costumes, and so on. It’s pretty awesome to see Namco Bandai localizing such a random game, although the game is set for a generic Spring release. We’ll keep you guys posted.
