SUCCESS Corporation-developed cute ’em up game Rainbow Cotton is finally coming west this May, via publisher ININ Games.

The 3D shoot ’em up game is coming to Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Switch, PS4, and PS5 on May 9th via digital storefronts.

Rainbow Cotton was originally developed by SUCCESS Corporation for the Sega Dreamcast back in 2000 and never got a western release – until now.

Remake

The reimagining of epic proportions through the power of remakes. Remaster

As opposed to the remake, a remaster describes a – mostly visual – overhaul of a game. In other words: same gameplay, new look. Cotton Reboot is the HD deluxe remaster of the cult classic, Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams. This HD remaster received a modern makeover with enhanced visuals, refined sound, and seamless gameplay. It’s a celebration of nostalgia with a contemporary twist.

Emulation/Port

Finally, let’s take a look at the 2021 release of Panorama Cotton. In this emulation, we faithfully recreated the original 1994 Sega Mega Drive experience for audiences to enjoy today. We essentially trick your console into believing itself to be an arcade machine to run the original SMD version—no gameplay changes, and no enhancements. Emulating a game is a testament to preserving gaming heritage while embracing the advancements of today’s technology.
