Rain World DLC The Watcher coming to consoles this month

Rain World

Months after its debut on PCRain World DLCThe Watcher” is finally coming to consoles this month.

While PC players got their hands on the DLC back in March, now it’s consoles gamers’ turn to slither through the Watcher’s murky, warped waters as the DLC will be available on September 25th.

In addition to the console port, Videocult will bless players with The Watcher update 1.5. This new update brings you multiple new regions to explore, creatures, mechanics and much, much more!

The base game Rain World has been available for Windows PC (via Steam and GOG), Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5.

Here’s the rundown and a trailer:

In Rain World, you are a nomadic slugcat, both predator and prey in a broken ecosystem. Grab your spear and brave the industrial wastes, hunting enough food to survive, but be wary— other, bigger creatures have the same plan… and slugcats look delicious.

Rain World: The Watcher is the next DLC expansion of Rain World. Journey beyond to something, somewhere only ever glimpsed. When the world beneath your feet cracks and crumbles, will you hold on to all you once knew? Or dive into the unknown?

The wilds that await will be unlike all that’s come before.

Unknown creatures stalk and climb and dive and hunt. New breeds rip and pluck and burrow and hide. Predator and prey redefined. And through the middle of it all, a lonely, lost slugcat trying their best to outlast the ravages of a warped world.

In addition to the console port, Videocult is excited to release the Watcher 1.5! This update brings multiple new regions to explore, new creatures, items, mechanics, new characters, new paths (and endings), plus a multitude of new pieces of art and music.

Beyond the Watcher campaign, Rain World itself will be getting major improvements with the Watcher including: 50+ new Arena maps, full Arena Mode and Jolly Co-op support for the Watcher, and retroactive Jolly Co-op support for ALL five Downpour campaigns. Players can also expect numerous gameplay tweaks, patches, and QoL updates.
