[UPDATE]
There was some concern regarding the validity of the Steam Greenlight post for Tree of Savior, that because developer IMC Games hasn’t officially announced the campaign, it might be a hoax.
Thankfully, this isn’t true, as the developers have responded on the Greenlight’s forums, confirming they’ll reveal more information soon:
Don’t worry, We did.
We will announce the details on the official site soon.
Thank you :-)
We’ll probably write a separate follow-up story as the developers reveal more information regarding the game’s potential Steam release.
[ORIGINAL STORY]
The Korean MMORPG, Tree of Savior, has been put onto Steam Greenlight.
Developer IMC Games are made up of mostly former-staffers that worked on the original Ragnarok Online, with Tree of Savior being poised as the true successor to the Korean MMORPG.
The game is mostly reminiscent of RO in that it features sprite-based graphics, various playable classes, and of course – lots of monster slaying. Featured above, you can view the latest trailer for the game, from last year’s G-Star expo, in South Korea.
While this isn’t a firm confirmation the game is getting an official English release, it’s certainly a sign the developers are gauging fan interest to see if it’s worthwhile for them to release the game in the west.
You can find Tree of Savior here on Steam Greenlight.

May 12, 2015 at 12:51 pmIt wasn’t my first MMO, but one of the ones that I loved the most was Ragnarok Online. I probably wouldn’t have gotten into MMO’s long term were it not for that game so when I heard about RO2, I was elated. I remember hearing about it and immediately finding a way to sneak on to the korean only beta only to be.. well… immediately let down. Eventually, when RO2 made it to steam I decided to give it another chance, but sadly it wasn’t any better than it was back in the korean only beta.
Fast forward to a few months ago when you guys broke the story about Tree of Saviour originally and that feeling that I had back in RO1 stirred, like a warm feeling in my stomach, much akin to the one a person gets when they come home after a long time away. I’ve been devouring every scrap of news about this game since then and you can bet that I will be all over it. Heck, I had to make sure I gave it my green light thumbs up before I even wrote this post just because I couldn’t wait.

May 12, 2015 at 1:29 pmBeen following this for a while but didn’t expect them to come put up a submission on greenlight and makes hints of English release any time soon.

May 12, 2015 at 10:13 pmSome things;
>”confirmation that the game is getting an official english release” they have already confirmed this long ago, along with a global beta at some point and the ability for users to add their own translations and text fixes to the game, which in turn the devs can “officialize” on a later patch.
>Don’t get too excited, the greenlight page could be a fake. They didn’t announce anything about steam on their blog/facebook yet. That said I did absolutely vote yes anyway.

May 12, 2015 at 11:04 pmStill annoyed that there’s no thief class but oh well. I’ll still enjoy the game just fine I’m sure. Probably better too since thief classes sucked in RO. In official servers anyway.
