Rumor: Quantic Dream is Working on a Star Wars Game

Quantic Dream is Working on a Star Wars Game

A new rumor suggesting the French developer Quantic Dream is working on a Star Wars game.

The rumor that Quantic Dream is working on a Star Wars game comes via French YouTuber Gautoz, who said “They’ve now finished their contract with Sony and will be signing with Disney. It looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game.”

This claim was also later parroted by another “industry insider” Tom Henderson, who posted a hasty Photoshopped image of an android from Detroit: Become Human with lightsabers from Star Wars over it.

This lines up with the exclusive license Star Wars has had with Electronic Arts for many years coming to an end, as earlier this year Lucasfilm confirmed they’re working on a new Star Wars game with Ubisoft at the helm. Coming from this, it would make sense for Disney, the now parent company of Star Wars, to put out more games in the franchise from more developers.

The most recent game to be released in the Star Wars franchise was Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which is available for Windows PC (via Steam and Origin), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5. In case you missed it, you can find our thorough review on the game here!

In recent news, Quantic Dream opened a new internal development team in Montreal Canada, another French-speaking region, with industry veteran and former Eidos Montreal boss Stephane D’Astous at the helm.

Following a decade of exclusive releases under publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment, Quantic Dream started releasing their formerly PlayStation-exclusive cinematic games like Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human for Windows PC.
