Thumper, indie studio DROOL’s February 2015-announced psychedelic music/rhythm rail-shooter experience, is getting PlayStation VR support.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Thumper co-creator Marc Flury talked up the game’s new VR support:
“To be honest, at first we weren’t sure whether Thumper would be a good fit for VR,” said Flury.
“We’ve spent the past few years obsessed with making Thumper the most intense two-dimensional experience possible. Wouldn’t a VR version be too intense? Well, against our better judgement, we recently got the game running on PlayStation VR just to see. We can confirm that not only is it intense, it’s completely overwhelming!”
Featured above, a new trailer was released for the game, which shows off its “rhythm violence” feel. It’s worth mentioning that you can still play Thumper without VR, in 2D, and still get quite a ridiculous experience.
Thumper is set to release sometime later this year on PlayStation 4 and PC, via Steam.
