PS5 gets another price hike for Europe and more

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced another price hike for PlayStation 5 consoles in Europe and more to combat global economic conditions.

The new price hikes were made in response to “challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates.” The price hikes range from a 10-15% increase on average for each region.

Here is the second round of price hikes for PS5:

Europe PS5 Digital Edition – €499.99 (up from €449.99)
(No pricing changes for the standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive) 
UK PS5 Digital Edition – £429.99 (up from £389.99) 
(No pricing changes for the standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive)  
Australia Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – AUD $829.95 (up from $799.95) 
PS5 Digital Edition – AUD $749.95 (up from 649.95)
New Zealand  Standard PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – NZD $949.95 (up from $899.95)
PS5 Digital Edition – NZD $859.95 (up from 769.96)

It’s worth noting the price point for PS5 Pro consoles remains unchanged, though the price on the separate PS5 Disc Drive has been reduced:

Europe €79.99 (was €119.99) 
UK  £69.99 (was £99.99)
Australia AUD $124.95 (was $159.95)
New Zealand  NZD $139.95 (was $169.95)
