Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced (via Wired) the cross-play beta program has exited its beta phase.
The cross-play functionality was originally launched to meet the demand of Fortnite, with many players requesting they be able to play with players on other platforms like Xbox One and Switch.
Until now, Sony has been strictly against cross-play on competitor platforms, except for select titles on Windows PC.
The cross-play program launched in September of last year – since then it has been expanded to include games like Rocket League, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Dauntless, Paladins, and more.
