Prometheus is a NES-Era Game by the Folks Who Developed Mega Man 42

Prometheus, or if you got by its full name – Prometheus: The Fire Thief, is an action adventure game set within the mythical period of ancient Greece. The guys at Magical Hackers are staying as true to the original NES color palette as possible, and they’re also trying to stay close to the difficulty that games of the NES era were known for.

In the game, you play as the titan Prometheus, and the story takes place right after he successfully stole fire from the Gods of mount Olympus. He embarks on a journey traveling all across Greece, fighting terrifying mythological beasts, regaining his power after Zeus turned him into a mortal. Similar to the story of Kratos, this is one of revenge.

Previously, Magical Hackers worked on a fan-made Mega Man game, titled Mega Man 42 – clearly a jab at the fact that the series has entered the double digits. While Mega Man 42 clearly couldn’t be a title made for profit, Prometheus is a totally new IP that the devs have been pouring their hearts into.

Prometheus: The Fire Thief is currently up on Steam Greenlight, and the game is being released as a standalone release on March 30th.
