Publisher NetEase Games and Thunder Fire Studio team Naked Rain have fully revealed Project Mugen, their recently announced “urban open-world RPG.”
Project Mugen is in development for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, Android, and cloud platforms – and PS4 now as well. Pre-registration is now available on its official site.
“Project Mugen is our love letter to urban fantasies,” Thunder Fire Studio senior marketing manager Riten Huang said in a press release. “We wanted to create a world that players could relate to, yet find enough mysteries to keep them coming back. The city is alive, and every player will have their unique journey through it.”
NetEase Games senior vice president Ethan Wang added, “Today’s unveiling of Project Mugen extends beyond this announcement; it represents NetEase Games’ spirit of global collaboration, creativity, and innovation to push the envelope in interactive storytelling. Project Mugen (working title) is an urban open-world RPG that attracts players with its complex urban landscape and rich world setting. Developed by NetEase Games together with NAKED RAIN, a new subsidiary of Thunder Fire Studios, it is a truly international project with team members from Hangzhou and Montreal joining forces to bring together different cultures and gaming expertise.
In a world similar to Earth where urban legends become reality and humans and supernatural beings coexist, players become psychics called “Infinite Trigger”. Set in a vibrant city, you’ll confront the anomalies and the paranormal that threaten your unique urban paradise. During this adventure, players will team up with various psychics with their own stories to face the chaos that threatens humanity.
