In a report by VR Focus, we’ve learned that Sony is ambitiously ramping up their development for Project Morpheus, their hot new virtual reality headset. When the game was shown off at GDC in San Francisco, they were demoing the unit on PC rigs that were running their games and software.
Apparently, the Morpheus headset is already running on Playstation 4 hardware, although they have only been showing the hardware running on Playstation 4 privately to various developers. However, they’ll be showing off Project Morpheus running off Playstation 4 publicly at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality Conference & Expo.
The expo is going down right now at North Shoreline Boulevard, Mountain View, in California, and Sony is promising that there will be zero PC’s in sight while the Morpheus headset is being demo’ed on the Playstation 4.
