We’ve learned Square Enix has named a co-director for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The news comes via a new recruitment page for the game, which confirms Naoki Hamaguchi, who previously worked on the game as project lead, is now co-director alongside Tetsuya Nomura.
Also, Square Enix’s 5th Business Division, which is led by Final Fantasy XIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida, is now known as the Third Development Division. They’re working on a new title for the next generation of gaming hardware.
“Based on the former 5th Business Division, the newly launched 3rd Development Headquarters has begun work on a new project following Final Fantasy XIV, and has faced the challenge of the next generation,” Yoshida said in a message. “This project has already finished its initial development, as well as prep work for the environment development, and is now shifting to a full, large-scale development phase. The new project is looking for developers who will bring both “fun” and “enjoyment” to the world, as well as “surprise.” If you’re looking to challenge the world market, we are looking forward to your application!”
Their studio is currently looking to hire programmers, designers, planners, and a project manager.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4.
