Bandai Namco and Slightly Mad Studios have confirmed that Project Cars has reached gold status, meaning the game is finally ready to ship! Alongside this, a release date for the game has been announced.
Project Cars will be arriving on May 8th in Europe (across all platforms) and on May 6th for PC, followed by May 12th for Playstation 4 and Xbox One in the United States. A new trailer for the game was also revealed, featured above, which only seemingly adds to the hype. The Wii U version is still en route, although a release date was not confirmed at this time.
“Congratulations to everybody for this achievement, and a huge thank you for your help in making it happen,” said Andy Garton, development director at Slightly Mad Studios. “Three years or so ago when this project started SMS were in a very difficult position, and without going in to the ugly details, it’s only the funding and support of WMD members that allowed the team to carry on, and Project CARS to get made.”
Project Cars was originally set for a November release last year, only to be delayed into this March, finally to see another delay into this spring – so it’s nice to see the game finally getting a release date locked down.
