Discotek Media have announced a 4K release for all four Project A-ko anime films as the all-new Project A-ko Perfect Collection 4K.

The publisher noted when they scanned the original Project A-ko film print for its original remaster, the scan was done in 4K in the hopes of them eventually doing a full 4K remaster in the future. The time has come and the new release is coming “soon,” because it’s already finished.

While the original Project A-ko has been scanned in 4K and remastered in that format, the subsequent three sequel films are all their previous 1080p format.

Fans can expect the collection to also bring “nearly every extra” from the previous Blu-ray releases, including: commentaries, storyboards, the music documentary, secret file trailers, teasers, TV spots, liner notes, and galleries. A few things were not included, though, like the English VHS credits and some things that repeat.
