Hakuouki Zuisouroku Omokagebana 2015-02-07 19

Hakuoki Zuisorouku: Omokagebana, a fandisk for the Hakuoki series of visual novels, is now out on Playstation Vita.

As we’ve noted previously, Hakuoki is an otome VN, which features a lot of attractive young men (“bishounen”, to those in the know). This new release tells a story, titled “Hakuoki Zuisorouku”, that takes place outside of the main works. This updated version of the fandisk has new content, which not only includes original scenarios, but voice recording for every scenario. According to the site, this can be considered the definitive version of Hakuoki Zuisoroku.

Story

In search of her missing father, the main character visits Kyoto. Upon witnessing a mass assassination, she learns the secret of the Shinsengumi and has to accompany them. In their quarters, she is put under house arrest. Every day, she lives under close inspection. In the middle of this, the main character’s relationship with the soldiers changes, leading to a turning point …

This Vita port of the visual novel has improved visuals and high definition graphics. In addition to the new scenarios in Omokagebana, new event CG have been created for important divergences in the stories of the six main characters. For example, the pig at the military post can get loose and eat the Shinsengumi’s rations. To supplement the diet of the hungry Shinsengumi troops, the main character can raise crops to eat, such as bamboo shoots, or go hunting. As an alternative, the main character might choose to look after the house.

Notes and explanations will be superimposed over an in-game map (see the last thumbnail below), on which you can select various points in order to experience a different part of the story.

Hakuoki Zuisorouku: Omokagebana is now available in Japan, and costs 6,264 yen. It is compatible with the PS Vita and PSTV; playing it on one system will not affect the in-game progress on the other.
