Japanese gamers have already gotten their hands on the HD remasters of Final Fantasy X and X-2, but it seems Square Enix already has their marketing team busy promoting the game.

Normally, I’d say that the Japanese tend to have very interesting, if not downright strange commercials – but this particular trailer actually tugs at the heart strings a little. I’ve got to admit, hearing To Zanarkand again simply gets me all choked up inside.

Add in a little dash of longing, sadness, and possibly even childhood nostalgia by saying goodbye to your friends, and it could easily bring a tear to your eye. This commercial is trying to remind us gamers of the first time many of us really bawled our eyes out over a video game.

Depending on how old you are, it’s probably during a certain point in Final Fantasy VII or in this case, Final Fantasy X. Either way, many of Square Enix’s classic games tell very rewarding and interesting stories, sometimes sad enough to even bring us to tears.
