Firefly Studios have finally released their hotly anticipated desert-faring sequel, Stronghold Crusader 2.

Featured above, an all-encompassing launch trailer was published for the game to help get you up to speed. The game is poised to recapture everything that made the original such a classic, and to hopefully rekindle the excitement of flaying your enemies while conquering the desert sands.

If you’ve never played a Stronghold game, the original Stronghold Crusader was easily my favorite in that it spiced up the gameplay quite a bit with the added desert mechanics and the completely new crusader units. You’ll not only be in charge of feeding and protecting your pilgrims, but you’ll have to also equip and train them into deadly warriors, if you want to survive the crusades.

Stronghold Crusader 2 is available for $49.99 on Steam, while the special edition (priced at $59.99) comes with the digital soundtrack and art booklet.
