Indie developer Funky Can Creative has announced a surprise PS5 and Xbox port for PopSlinger Vol. 2: Loveless, their retro musical shooter sequel.
PopSlinger Vol. 2: Loveless is now available for PlayStation 5, via the PlayStation Store. An Xbox Series X|S port is planned for early 2026.
The retro music-themed shooter was originally released for Windows PC (via Steam) and Nintendo Switch back in October 2024.
“We’re thrilled to bring PopSlinger Vol. 2 – Loveless to PlayStation 5 right as the holidays kick into high gear,” said Jose Luis Abreu, founder of Funky Can Creative in a press release. “Whether you’re jumping in for the first time, hunting down a cassette before it’s gone, or waiting for the vinyl drop, we’re grateful to everyone keeping the PopSlinger groove alive.”
PopSlinger Vol. 2 – Loveless takes you on a thrilling new adventure where Agent Cooper McLaren of the Juncture Against Various Anomalies (JAVA) teams up with Akane 2.0, a reformed digital idol, to rescue Ria, the heroine of the first game, who has mysteriously vanished.
As they navigate the bizarre Purple District, Cooper’s coffee-fueled weapons and Akane’s digital powers will be put to the test against the formidable Loveless Sisters and a variety of new enemies.
