Playmaji’s Polymega adds N64 module support in the latest addition to its already massive classic game hardware playback, news confirmed by the company this week.
The reason why Polymega adds N64 module support as its next classic game console hardware is because of sheer demand from their customers.
Coming from this, the new EM05 “Ultra” module will have support for a new retro controller designed by Retro-Bit, based on their very popular Tribute64 controller (seen above).
Here’s a brief summary of the new module:
Anticipated to release in 2022, EM05 Ultra Element Module Set owners will be able to play original N64 game cartridges on their Polymega systems region free, using either OEM controllers or the included Polymega Ultra Retro Controller, a new collaboration between Playmaji and Retro-Bit Gaming based on their popular Wireless Tribute64 pad. The EM05 Ultra Element Module Set also includes 4 controller ports on the front of the module, perfect for multiplayer-centric games.
The base all-in-one classic Polymega console – which finally launched earlier this year after a lengthy delay – orginally launched with support for NES, SNES, Mega Drive / Sega Genesis, and TurboGrafx-16 / PC-Engine games, via its original base module.
The base module can also play CD basd games for the Sega CD, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, TurboGrafx-16 / PC-Engine CD, and Neo Geo CD.
The base Polymega can be purchased through Playmaji’s official website with configurations starting at $449.99 USD for the Base Unit, with modules available for $79.99 each.
