Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have shared new details on PokePark Kanto, their physical amusement park dedicated to everything from the Pokemon franchise.

Announced back in 2023, PokePark Kanto will be built on roughly 26,000 square meters of land within Japan’s Yomiuriland amusement park, located in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This will be the first permanent, physical amusement park centered on Pokemon. A grand opening is now set for early 2026.

“Pokemon has grown so much thanks to lots of support from many people,” said Junichi Masuda, co-creator of the Pokemon franchise and now Chief Creative Fellow at The Pokemon Company. “So we wanted to make a place everyone could come together and enjoy and where people and Pokemon can have fun together. That wish prompted us to begin work on a world where Pokemon truly exist.”

PokéPark KANTO is a Trainers’ Area—a Pokémon-packed park where Trainers can make unforgettable discoveries on their journey through the forest and town, home to over 600 Pokémon! The Pokémon Forest is a spacious wilderness spanning nearly 500 meters in length. It features various terrains including hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, rocky trails, and more. Observe a wide variety of Pokémon from Kanto and other regions as they run, battle, and share Berries. Here, you will find Pokémon that tower high overhead and others that hide underground or behind greenery. What exactly are those Pokémon doing? Keep your eyes peeled and find your favorite Pokémon.

Sedge Town is a place where Pokémon and Trainers from around the world meet and forge new friendships. In Sedge Town, you will find the Pokémon Trainers’ Market full of goods, as well as the Pokémon Center, Poké Mart, Sedge Gym, a Pokémon parade, and two other attractions!
