The Pokemon Company have announced the western premiere date of their latest Pokemon film; Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.

Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle premieres December 25th in Japan, and 2021 in the west. Known as Pocket Monster the Movie: Coco in Japan (or rather, Koko) the film follows the new Mythical Pokemon Zarude that was revealed on Pokemon Day earlier this year.

The Rogue Monkey Pokemon raises an abandoned human orphan, Koko. According to the official Pokemon website, Zarude are typically territorial, and respond violently to any creatures outside of their species. As previously reported, Koko believes this Pokemon is his father, and that he is a Pokemon himself.

The film was originally set to premiere July 10th in Japan, though was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
