Those hoping to enjoy the shiny Zacian and Zamazenta giveaway for Pokemon Sword and Shield do not have to visit a physical store.

The event had been announced earlier this month, where players could visit various gaming stores around the world to obtain a code for a shiny Zacian in Pokemon Shield, and a shiny Zamazenta in Pokemon Sword. It should be noted these are the main legendary Pokemon typically exclusive to the opposite game.

While players would need to visit physical stores (as noted by Pokemon news fan website Serebii), a way to get the codes without needing to leave your home have been discovered. Centro Pokemon, a Twitter account dedicated to Pokemon news and leaks, discovered that the UK’s Game (a video game retailer) was offering the code online via email submission here.

Until the 18th of November, users can submit their email address to receive a code for both Pokemon Sword and Shield (one per customer). This writer tested, and after submitting the email address received the codes three days later. The website notes “We will aim to email your codes every Monday.”

Once you receive your code, simply enter it via Mystery Gift (before February 12th), and you will soon have you shiny Legendary Zacian or Zamazenta. Both come with the Rusted Sword and Shield respectively, letting them enter their powerful Crowned forms, and giving them a boost in Attack or Defense respectively.

Why Game is offering this and not other stores is a bit of a mystery, especially consider the system could clearly be used by international players. It may be that Game erred on the side of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Regardless, those who are a little shy or cautious for whatever reason have a way to be a PokeManiac without venturing out into the cold.
