Pokemon Sun and Moon National Pokedex and Pokemon Bank Coming in January

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon 06-02-16-(8)

While Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon have just launched worldwide, Nintendo is already ramping up to put out some much-demanded post-launch features to the games.

The games ability to utilize the Pokemon Bank app will be coming sometime early next year, with the company targeting a release by the end of January.

Also coming with the Pokemon Bank app support will be the National Pokedex, meaning you’ll be able to collect all five billion Pokemon, as opposed to the game’s current 300.

Our thorough review for Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon are forthcoming.

Wonder what Rotom’s entry will be. Would confirm if Rotom is writing all the gen 7 entries.

Can’t wait to transfer all my well trained Pokes from X to Moon!

I’m glad they waited this long to add them, wouldn’t want people trolling multiplayer.

Funny meeting you here! It probably will be pretty bland and generic.

This is one feature that I’m glad they waited on. Having access to your previous Pokemon so early would crack the game wide open. As is, the Greninja you get from the demo is already really strong.

The greatest and most glorious of all pokemon! To be graced by its presence is a great honor you should be thankful for.

It’s kind of nice to have a limited set of time using new pokemon before the floods of last-gen OU come flooding in. I do look forward to bringing over my IV-bred pokemon for breeding stock, though. Not about to start IV breeding all over from scratch.

So the UK only gets to experience online without megas for a month?

The national dex isn’t exactly a basic feature, its always been a post-game unlockable one. So most players are getting it far earlier than normal.

That would be why they held it back, so people wouldn’t flood the games with previous-gen mons, some of which would also probably be hacked so there’s that too.

I would guess there were some finishing touches needed for gen I and VII support as well.

except even in other games, you only unlock the national dex after finishing the league, so that wouldn’t be a problem

I love that they did this. Like others have said, it helps prevent the rush of older Pokémon overtaking the games. Also, for once I have a decent shot at completing a pokedex. And we can still get a shiny charm as a reward!
