Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are off to an apparent great start when it comes to sales, setting a new record for the franchise.

Not that anyone is surprised considering how well the Pokémon games in general sell, but the latest entries have gone beyond that, at least when it comes to pre-orders.

Pokémon Company CEO Takahito Utsunomiya (via Oricon) Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have managed to see the highest ever pre-order sales of any game in the franchise to-date.

However, the new milestone was shared with no hard data given with it for comparison, or even an idea of volume.

While pre-order data is not a guarantee of attaining the highest total sales, which are more important for companies, it certainly can be a sign to see how far the new games will go.

That said, despite the great sales numbers thus far, the recently released games have seen their fair share of issues and bugs during the initial days of launch.

Considering how many people have gone out to purchase them, hopefully Game Freak resolve most of the issues being faced.
