Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – How to complete the Medali Gym Test

Medali Gym Test

Now that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available, trainers may be getting stuck on progress. We prepped this guide on how to complete the Medali Gym Test.

When it comes to the New Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gyms, the gym tests can be more difficult than the actual gym battles themselves.

Rather than forcing trainers to participate in the stereotypical gym trainer battles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet take a different approach by introducing gym tests. These tests can vary between pushing an olive around an obstacle course, Simon Says, or sled racing down a hill.

What is arguably the hardest gym test takes place in Medali when you want to take on the Medali gym leader. The Medali Gym Test is by far the most brain-racking out of them all due to wordplay, riddles, and battling other trainers. So you better prepare with a steady internet connection, so you don’t lose your game mid play, and as an ATT Internet user, you wouldn’t need to worry about your game dropping while you run through this hard gym course. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Completing the Medali Gym Test Guide

Medali Gym Test Details

Upon arriving at the Medali Gym, Nemona will welcome you and congratulate you on however many badges you’ve obtained. Depending on how many badges you got, she will challenge you to a battle. Once the battle has ended, if it happened, you can go back and talk to the Medali Gym front desk administrator.

He will inform you that in order to challenge this gym, you will have to complete the Medali Gym Test. He goes on to state that he has given three other trainers clues that will lead to the special treasure. Unlike other gyms, this gym focuses more on a mental challenge rather than an active one.

The trainer on the left side of town once defeated will state that they are looking for something odd and then states they want ice cream; the nearby Icecream parlor serves Grilled Rice Balls. The trainer on the back right side of town will say the player should listen to the bluebird.

It says “Meedyum” after a good amount of time. The third trainer is in the front middle of the town by the amphitheater. His clue states that the final clue is close to a set of dark stairs; once down the stairs, there is faint writing with the Pokemon move Fire Blast.

Once in the restaurant, talking to the office worker at the bar will reveal that the meal needs lemon seasoning.

Solving the Medali Gym Test Puzzle

Once you have gathered all of the clues, you will head over to the Treasure Eatery. In order to solve the test, you will need to speak to the hostess at the front of the restaurant.

Don’t worry, if you don’t order the meal correctly, you can always start over. Below we will be giving you the questions the hostess asks and the options with the correct one in bold.

Medali Gym Test Passed

By ordering the dish with the correct combination, you will pass the Medali Gym Test and the Medali Gym leader, Larry, will appear.

Just like the other trainers the player battled in the city, Larry uses normal types with the exception of Staraptor which Terastalizes Normal.

Larry’s team is Komala, Dudunsparce, and the aforementioned Staraptor. If you have fighting-type or ground-type Pokemon the gym is relatively easy to take down.

Reward

After defeating Larry and his Staraptor, Larry gives the player the Medali Gym badge, ₽6,480, and the TM 025, Facade. The Medali gym was actually the last gym we took on in our victory road quest.

This battle was rather one side since all of our Pokemon were level 70; in fact, all we had to use was our Tyranitar against his level 35 and 36 Pokemon.
