Nintendo and Game Freak have released the first update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet since their launch later last month.
At launch, the games became rather notorious for their buggy state, which many players ran into during their playthroughs. While some were hilarious, there were others that appeared game-breaking, so fixes for them are very much welcomed.
However, despite the bugginess of the games it seems the latest patch is very minimal than what most would assume. The primary item noted was the launch of season 1 ranked battles for the games’ online competitive play.
Meanwhile, when it comes to bug fixes, only a specific music bug relating to the elite four and the Pokemon champion not playing was mentioned.
Nintendo did state that “select” bugs were also fixed, but weren’t specific in the other bug fixes. This means players will have to snoop around to see what was and wasn’t affected with this patch.
Despite the rocky launch, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been very successful for the franchise, with record-breaking pre-order sales and smashing over 10 million total sales in the first three days.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available now on exclusively on Nintendo Switch – expect our thorough review on the games soon.
