Nintendo has confirmed that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are getting Eon Ticket support via the 3DS’ StreetPass functionality.
Serial codes for the Eon Tickets will be given to Play! Pokemon organizers and StreetPass communities all over North America, and they will become active on November 21st, the same day as the game’s launch.
Getting an Eon Ticket will be very important for you as a Pokemon trainer, that is, unless you don’t want to venture to the Southern Islands and catch Latios or Latias. After you acquire Latios or Latias, you can use the soar ability and fly anywhere you wish in Hoenn.
Being able to soar will give you the ability to visit Mirage areas and encounter rare Pokemon like:
- Ho’Oh
- Lugia
- Dialga
- Palkia
- Reshiram
- Zekrom
If you’re one of the lucky players to get a serial code for an Eon Ticket, you can redeem this for a Mystery Gift at the menu, which unlocks a Wonder Card. The Wonder Card can be redeemed in game at a Pokemon Center to an attendant in blue uniform. This gets you the Eon Ticket.
If you’re lazy or typically avoid social areas, you can also bum an Eon Ticket off a friend who has already gotten one. You have to activate StreetPass within BuzzNav, which lights up an icon to let you know that you’ve received the Eon Ticket. After this, you still have to go speak to the same attendant to get your Eon Ticket.
Lastly, in preparation for the launch of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Cartoon Network is going to air a special four-hour long Pokemon animation feature on Saturday, November 8th, beginning at 12 PM PT, 3 PM ET. The beginning of the special comes with five episodes from Diamond and Pearl: Galactic Battles, Diamond and Pearl: Sinnoh League Victors, and finally Black and White: Rival Destinies, before the feature presentation, Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, which you can expect at 2:30 PM, PT or 5:30 PM ET.
