The Pokemon Company released a new trailer showcasing characters in the upcoming Pokemon anime which is replacing longrunning characters Ash and Pikachu.

This new series will star two new protagonists in Liko (previously referred to as Riko) and Roy. In the trailer, the former gets a hint in how she obtained her Sprigatito and we get a short peek at a couple of other characters as well.

One of the other characters is Friede, whose partner Pokemon is Captain Pikachu and he happens to be a professor as well. Friede is also shown flying on a Charizard in the trailer as well.

The new Pokemon anime series will premiere in Japan on April 14, 2023. Meanwhile for the games, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
