Pokemon Home Announced

The recent Pokemon Direct announced a new program called Pokemon Home.

Deemed “a place where all Pokemon can gather”, the program will allow Pokemon from 3DS Pokemon games, Pokemon Bank, Pokemon Go, the Pokemon Let’s Go games and the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.

During the presentation, the image used to indicate the inter-connectivity of all the games showed arrows going from the games towards Pokemon Home.

However, the only arrow coming from Pokemon Home was to Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. This effectively means you can transfer not only Pokemon from past 3DS games, but Pokemon from Pokemon GO and Pokemon Let’s Go.

The program also features other interactions with your smartphone, such as letting you trade Pokemon with your smartphone online and with local friends. More features were teased for the future.

Pokemon Home will launch in 2020 for Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS. You can find the full run-down below:

The world of Pokémon games is more diverse than ever, with a range of titles for Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices. Now, Trainers can bring all their Pokémon together with Pokémon HOME, a new cloud service app that enables them to continue their Pokémon adventures beyond a single game system and manage their collection of Pokémon across many of their games. Smartphone users can also trade with friends or others around the world directly from Pokémon HOME. Pokémon HOME connects with Pokémon Bank as well as Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, and also Pokémon GO. Pokémon HOME is expected to launch in early 2020 for iOS and Android devices as well as Nintendo Switch.
