PlayStation Plus Rates Are Increasing Again, in Japan and Europe

Sony Interactive Entertainment has begun sending out emails to European PlayStation Plus subscribers, noting their rates are going to be increased.

The emails (via PSNProfiles) simply note that rates will be increasing, and revised pricing will be coming to countries like France, Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland. Japan is also getting a price hike, but only for the one month subscription tier.

While pricing changes are coming to a number of countries, it’s possible a few were to standardize their rates, as countries like Japan, Sweden, and Switzerland had cheaper one month subscriptions, instead of opting for the whole year. Regardless, this is still a price increase.

The new prices will go into effect beginning August 1st, 2019.

Sony originally launched PlayStation Plus back in 2010, and since then most games that have online multiplayer require you to have an active subscription, with the exception of most free-to-play or MMORPG games.
