Hot on the heels from God of War coming to PC, Sony has formally registered a new PlayStation PC label with the goal of further pushing their PlayStation releases on PC.
The new PlayStation PC label comes from a new Corporation Wiki listing (via VGC), specifically for “PlayStation PC LLC,” which originally got registered back in April 2021 only to be found now.
Reportedly, the new PlayStation PC label is expected to replace the currently used PlayStation Mobile brand on the company’s initial few PC ports, and is even already listed under the new God of War PC port.
A previous PC port for a big PlayStation exclusive was Days Gone, and with God of War coming to PC on January 14th the next PC port for a previously exclusive PlayStation series is none other than Uncharted. The new Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is set to come to PC and PS5 sometime in “early 2022.”
The fact that both God of War and even Uncharted are coming to PC means Sony is serious about finally embracing PC as a platform – perhaps PlayStation exclusives will no longer be exclusive to Sony’s home consoles moving forward.
Sony also recently acquired PC porting studio Nixxes Software, the publisher will seemingly contract out the porting process to various subsidiaries and/or third parties to repackage PlayStation exclusives for PC.
