Japanese musician Tohru Okada, the man behind the iconic PlayStation logo sound, has died at the age of 73.
The news was confirmed publicly by various Japanese media (Excite, etc) and his band members that Okada passed away due to acute heart failure, on February 14th.
To be clear – Okada made the iconic PlayStation jingle that you would usually hear in commercials throughout the years, not the bootup sound heard with the original PlayStation.
Okada was also a founding member of the iconic Japanese rock band The Moonriders, who also confirmed his passing on their social media.
