Sony Computer Entertainment America has officially announced that the PlayStation Experience will be returning this year, running on December 5th and 6th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, rather than Vegas like last year.
Sony has promised a bunch of “hands-on” time with the big up-coming games for this year and the next, a “front-row seat” for some big PlayStation announcements, and a ton of other surprises.
Following last year’s event, Sony has tried to take as much fan feedback as possible, and one of those feedback topics was the prices. In response, Sony has knocked down the prices in comparison to last year, leaving the two-day passes for buyers before September 20th sitting at $60 (while supplies last). Following the September 20th cut-off date, the two-day passes bump up to $75, or $45 for Saturday and $40 for Sunday.
On the announcement, Sony also recommends registering up with your PlayStation Network ID, though they are being cryptic as to why so far, though it will be made clear down the line.
Also announced for the event was the Capcom Cup. The big Street Fighter tournament will be held at the Experience as a special one-day event that will be open to all attendees on the 6th (Sunday). This tournament is the finals for the Capcom Pro Tour, featuring 32 of the world’s top players vying for the “Street Fighter World Champion” title, and a whopping $250,000 prize.
Oh, and one last thing. Tickets are on sale now.
