Sony Interactive Entertainment have revealed two new PlayStation 5 Dualsense controller colors; Cosmic Red and Midnight Black.
As detailed on PlayStation Blog the Midnight Black color scheme features “two subtly different shades of black with light grey detailing to reflect how we view space through the night sky.” While the Cosmic Red “offers a striking black and red design inspired by the unique vivid shades of red found throughout the cosmos.”
The Midnight Black is sure to raise eyebrows, as the PlayStation 5 moved away from the previously all-black color scheme of the PlayStation 2 to 4. While the PlayStation 5 official teardown revealed the console’s faceplates could be easily removed (leading to speculation on custom face plates), a UK-based company making custom plates was threatened with legal action by Sony.
As with all PlayStation 5 Dualsense controllers, the new Cosmic Red and Midnight Black offer haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers (both providing more sensations for more immersion), and a built-in microphone.

The Midnight Black and Cosmic Red Dualsense controllers will launch globally June 2021 at participating retailers.
