Sony has announced PlayStation 5 has managed to reach over 30 million units sold worldwide.
The company also revealed at CES 2023 that the month of December 2021 was the best in sales for the consoles lifespan.
These values are quite impressive, especially recent good sales, considering that outside of the US the console had a price hike due to inflation concerns.
CEO Jim Ryan also stated that Sony continues to work towards expanding out to worldwide markets and believes that those who wish to get a PlayStation 5 will still be able to get one in the near future.
This is another important point as supply shortages have plagued not only Sony, but also its competitors in the console sphere.
In regards to December being their best month, recent reports indicated that by the end of September, the company had sold roughly 25 million.
This means that they managed to sell approximately 5 million worldwide during the past quarter, most of which likely attributed to the holiday season. Again, all of this occurred after the aforementioned price hike for the console.
