Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced a price drop for the PlayStation 4 in European regions.

While the console was previously retailing at €399, the PlayStation 4 SKU with a 500GB HDD is now going to cost €349 throughout Europe (£299 for the United Kingdom).

“We are delighted to deliver the PS4 system at its best-ever value just in time for the holiday season, making it more accessible to a broader audience in Europe,” Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president Jim Ryan said.

“With this year’s biggest blockbusters and next year’s best exclusives such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End set to thrill players, there has never been a better time to join the PS4 community. Also, watch out for an amazing range of Ultimate Player Edition Bundles including the PS4 system with 1TB HDD and some of the biggest games of the year, offering even greater value.”

The price drop is now reflected in the following countries: Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The European price drop is similar to the ones previously seen in North America and Japan.
