It seems the development for Guilty Gear Xrd Sign has taken quite a bit of the development team’s staff, as the meaty R specification patch for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus has been delayed on Playstation 3.
The R patch has been out on Xbox 360 since last October, but has quietly been delayed on Playstation 3, with no word from Arc System Works. Now, they’ve finally spoken out about it, and they’ve issued an apology.
You can view their message below:
Guilty Gear fans, we have an apology to make.
Back in September, we announced that the GGXXAC+R patch would be out by the end of the year. That was based on the best information we had at the time, given the status of the XBLA patch. Unfortunately, the PS3 patch is still in development and WILL NOT be out this week.
We delayed announcing this because we were holding out as much hope as you were. We are very sorry for the delay! If it’s any comfort, the lack of resources on the +R patch is due to the ongoing production of Guilty Gear Xrd.
Again, our biggest apologies and thanks for the continued patience and sticking with us. We owe you!
So in a way, the delay of the R update is a bit justified as they’ve been working diligently on Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign, which is a Playstation 3 exclusive, and presumably needs more staff that are savvy with the platform.
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R, despite it’s ridiculous name, is currently available worldwide across Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, and Xbox 360.
