Playdead CEO Launches New Studio, Reveals First Game “Somerville”

Dino Patti, former CEO and the co-founder of Playdead (Limbo and Inside), has literally jumped ship to launch a new Guildford-based studio called Jumpship.

Patti founded the studio with UK-based animator and visualization artist Chris Olsen, and what’s more – the duo has revealed the first game: Somerville.

While the game began as a personal pet-project by Olsen back in 2014, by 2016 he constructed a proof of concept trailer, a playable prototype, and a small online following behind the new game from his documenting its development process. Featured above, you can view a teaser trailer for the game.

The pair are looking to hire more staff to work on the game, with jobs including positions like character animator, gameplay designer, character controller programmer, and more.

Further details like development platforms and a release date weren’t confirmed, however we’ll keep you guys posted.
