Playdate is getting a price increase, stereo dock still being tested

Playdate

Panic company has announced a price increase for their Playdate handheld gaming device.

The boutique handheld gaming device is raising its price from $179.99 to a full $199.99, though the price won’t go into effect until next month.

Existing orders won’t be affected by the price change, and you can still submit an order to get your own Playdate – although new orders won’t ship until later in 2023.

Here’s the new video update:

Alongside news of the price hike for the handheld is the news that its previously teased Stereo Dock is still coming, but it’s still being tested and has no release date or pricing info.

The Playdate was announced back in May 2019, and pre-orders finally went live in 2021. If you’re still looking to get your hands on one, they are still available to order over on the official Playdate website.
